The speaker at the webinar was a German expert, Uwe Stark, a judge at the Local First Instant Court of Siegen.
The webinar focused on the issues similar to:
– German legal norms in terms of modifying the qualifications of the accused action
– Prerequisites for reference obligation
– Suspension of the main hearing when applying a more vigorous criminal norm
– Suspension of legal proceedings
– Postponement of the hearing in case of delay/inability of the lawyer to participate
– Petitions and the rule of appeal.
The webinar had been culminated with a prolong discussion and a question-and-answer session, where ALFG lawyers provided the German experts with the Georgian experience and the problems that keep existing in practice in terms of this issue.
Up to 20 ALFG lawyers were present in the online webinar.
