Webinar on the topic of “The legal challenges of the banking sector, assessment and analysis”
On March 25th of this year, the Association of Law Firms of Georgia, together with the Banking Association of Georgia, organized a webinar on the topic of “The legal challenges of the banking sector, assessment and analysis”
The following 4 issues were discussed during the webinar:
- Usage of the electronic signature in agreements, legal acceptance of the electronic documents, which are verified by the electronic signature and the specifics of presenting them in court; the existing court practice regarding this issue.
- News in labour justice, the division of the legal burden of proof, on the main, as well as the pre-agreement stage. The characteristics of the litigations derived from the violation of labour limitations and the position of court on the matter;
- Division of the legal burden of proof in credit litigations, among those, on the stage of contractual relations’ commencement and on the stage of agreeing on the essential conditions (as well as on the stage of debtor’s persuasion, about the legal burden of proof on authenticity/falsity of the agreement when the verbal instructions exist.)
- The characteristics of the litigations connected to the permit of a minor to control properties (real property, personal property, non-material possessions), among those, the terms that should be taken into account in advance during mortgage approval, in order to eliminate the future legal risks.
The following experts were invited to present the topics at the webinar: the former member of the Supreme Court and the Chairperson of the Chamber of Civil Cases, Mzia Todua and the member of the Supreme Court – Ekaterine Gasitashvili.
The webinar was participative, 120 representatives of the commercial banks and the law firms of Georgia took part in it.
The webinar lasted for 2 hours and up to 50 questions were asked by the participants, the answers to which will be prepared in the nearest future by the experts in the written form and will be sent to every participant of the webinar.
The Association of Law Firms of Georgia is going to plan more educational events with the Banking Association in the future as well. These events will be equally interesting and beneficial for the members of both associations.
