Association of Law Firms of Georgia(ALFG) addressed to the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the written consideration
Association of Law Firms of Georgia(ALFG) addressed to the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the written consideration within the institute of Amicus Curiae. The ALFG’s consideration concerns issues arisen in the constitutional submission #608-609 of the Supreme Court of Georgia. The SCOG addressed to the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the questions, such as, how the principles of equal and adversarial system, established and recognized in the constitution, works in Criminal Law Proceedings. Questions concerned also the use of constitutional standards in criminal law proceeding and the scope of the state discretion with respect to Article 85 of the constitution.
ALFG member attorneys, in particular Criminal Law Working Group members drafted their opinion towards the aforementioned questions. ALFG opinion includes European Court of Human Rights and U.S. Supreme Court precedents as well.
ALFG’s opinion was submitted to the Constitutional Court of Georgia according to the article 141 of “Law of Georgia on the Constitutional Legal Proceedings”.
