Meeting with Associate Members of the Association of Law Firms of Georgia

On April 8, 2019, the Head of the Association of Law Firms of Georgia – Zviad Kordzadze and the Executive Director – Tamar Metreveli held a meeting with those associate members of ALFG who are not employed/united in the Association member law firms.

 

The objective of the meeting was to introduce a new Executive Director to the members of the Association and to hear the regards of the associate members over the ALFG-activity associated themes. The meeting conferred on challenges in criminal proceedings, likewise the project idea proposed for the management of ALFG in this respect, generation of a work group on the mediation draft law, preparation of a training course on personal data, arrangement of a round table meeting on problematic issues related to the public registry; sharing of the court decisions on interesting, precedent and/or problematic disputes in an encrypted manner with the closed Facebook group of ALFG members, creation of a calendar of events and placement of events planned by any organization.

The Chairperson presented the idea for consideration meaning establishing a legal entity by ALFG and offering services to the members, similar to: decryption of minutes of the hearing, translation of legal documents, postal services, etc.

 

The ALFG Chair also accounted the members regarding the increase in membership dues that the organization needs to hold the line of institutional firmness and to unimpededly put through the activities specified by the statute.

 

The meeting was attended by 20 associate members.
