THE TRAINING FOR LEGAL AID LAWYERS IN FAMILY LAW

On September 23-24, 2016, the Association of Law Firms of Georgia held the training for Legal Aid lawyers in Kutaisi. The topic was: “The Burden of Proof of the Parties in the process of Limiting and Deprivation of the Parental rights and the Role of Social Service in the Dispute”.
Training was held by Mr. Davit Kikaleishvili, ALFG expert in family law, managing partner of the Law Firm “VBAT”.
Association of Law Firms of Georgia continues conducting trainings for Legal Aid lawyers on civil law topics. Geographical coverage of trainings’ includes the east and west parts of Georgia and will be held during the next seven months. The survey, conducted by Legal Aid Service among employees, identified that Legal Aids lawyers need to improve the capacity and legal knowledge in the expanded mandate in the following areas of civil law: Family Law, Inheritance Law, Contract Law Tax Law, Company Law, Civil Procedural Law (civil proceedings at the first instance court).
Trainings are held with the support of the UN Joint Programme: “Enhancing Access to Justice and Development of a Child-Friendly Justice System in Georgia”, which is jointly operated by the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the European Union.
