Training in Contract and Tort Law

On July 28,  Association of Law Firms of Georgia ( ALFG)  with the support of Georgian Bar Association (GBA) organized  a training for lawyers on the subject of “Contractual and Tort Claims System under  Civil Code”.

Training was held by Giorgi Batlidze, an ALFG member attorney and a partner at Law Firm BLC and by Giorgi Vashakidze, legal education and training specialist at EWMI-PROLoG.

Training included issues, such as secondary contractual claims system in civil law; compensation of losses for breach of obligation of diligence, for overrunning of the period for performing the obligation and instead of performance. Special attention was payed to the differences between three important institutes, such as avoidance of the contract, repudiation of the contract and termination of the contract, after which trainers discussed torts within system of law, as well  general tort and codification of tort claims. Overview of European tort systems was also presented by the speakers.
