working meeting at Hotel “Crowne Plazza Borjomi” to finalize the draft amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of Georgia (CPC)
On May 13-15, 2016, Association of Law Firms of Georgia (ALFG), with the support of the East-West Management Institute Project “Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia (EWMI-PROLoG) held a working meeting at Hotel “Crowne Plazza Borjomi” to finalize the draft amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of Georgia (CPC). The workshop was presented by ALFG CPC Working Group members, representatives from the Unity of Judges of Georgia(UJG), German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the East-West Management Institute Project “Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia (EWMI-PROLoG) also attended working meeting. CPC working group members discussed final amendments to the CPC with the involvement of UJG and GIZ. Remarks of these organizations were also presented on the meeting.
Presentation of ALFG proposed amendments to the Civil Procedure Law was held on 22 January, 2016, within the MOJ Private Law Reform Council, after which interested parties were given an opportunity to submit written comments towards the proposed project.
The final edition of the amendments to the CPC will be submitted to the Ministry of Justice Private Law Reform Implementation Council. Amendment process is supported by EWMI-PROLoG.
